Lithium exploration and development company Atlantic Lithium disclosed promising drilling outcomes at its Ewoyaa project in Ghana, highlighting the growth potential of the existing lithium oxide resource – currently standing at 35.3 million tons.
The latest assay results from the Dog-Leg target highlight multiple high-grade and broad near-surface extensions, including a notable intersection of 27 meters at 1.85% lithium oxide from a depth of 126 meters. The drilling campaign – encompassing 4,101 meters of resource extension and sterilization reverse circulation drilling completed in 2024 – notably includes 924 meters of resource extension drilling at the Dog-Leg target and 3,177 meters of sterilization drilling at the proposed plant site.
Importantly, the high-grade extensional drilling results reported at the Dog-Leg target extend beyond the boundaries of the current mineral resource estimate (MRE).
“We look forward to receiving further drilling results from the diamond tail drilling completed at Dog-Leg and delivering an MRE upgrade for the project – targeted for mid-year. The MRE upgrade will include updates to both the lithium and feldspar and incorporate all results received from drilling completed in 2023 and results from drilling completed so far during 2024,” said Atlantic Lithium’s Executive Chairperson Neil Herbert.
Despite challenges like variable pegmatite nature and difficult drill access, Atlantic Lithium aims for accurate intersections of pegmatite bodies by drilling perpendicular to strike and dip, ensuring precise width approximation.
