Zimbabwean mining company Kuvimba Mining House has signed a $310 million deal to construct a 3 million ton per year lithium processing plant at the Sandawana mine in Mberengwa.
The build, operate and transfer agreement was signed between Kivumba Mining and a consortium of British and Chinese investors.
The facility is expected to be operational within 18 months and will initially produce 600,000 metric tons of lithium concentrate annually.
The project will be operated by the consortium for six years before being transferred to the Zimbabwean government.
