The Zambian Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development has granted Handa Resources – a joint venture between mining firms Arc Minerals and Anglo American – mining permit 33404-HQ-LML.
Two other license applications, 33402-HQ-LML and 33403-HQ-LML, submitted by Handa Resources, have also been reinstated on the Zambian Mining Cadastre Portal.
The three licenses enable Handa Resources to initiate drilling across 870 Km2 in Zambia‘s North-Western Province. Anglo American will contribute $24 million for the $38.5 million exploration campaign.
“This is an excellent outcome in resolving and approving the outstanding license matters,” said Nick von Schirnding, Executive Chairman of Arc Minerals. “We’re in an envious position holding a significant licence in one of the most prospective areas for copper, globally.”
