Houston-based Unite Oil & Gas International (UOGI) and Congolese firm ARIES Energies have launched the Bomoko Oil & Gas, a new venture designed to sustainably develop hydrocarbon assets in the Republic of Congo (RoC).
This initiative, anchored in a memorandum of understanding, seeks to merge UOGI’s technological and asset management expertise with ARIES Energies’ in-depth knowledge of the local energy landscape.
“I am excited about this partnership,” said President and CEO of UOGI Yachtze Luchin. “It aligns with our mission to help the Congo optimize their hydrocarbon resources. Through this collaboration with the private sector, we are advancing resource optimization and increasing opportunities to hire, contract and develop local talent, helping to create a stronger economic environment.”
UOGI, which is already engaged in contracts with Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo, aims to support RoC’s hydrocarbon sector through this venture.
ARIES Energies’ General Manager, Loic Mackosso added, “Bomoko Oil & Gas embodies our vision of sustainable, locally driven energy, championed by stakeholders committed to the Congo’s development. Through this collaboration with UOGI, we’re combining our deep knowledge of the Congolese market with UOGI’s global technical expertise to create value that benefits both our economy and our communities.”
The venture will prioritize local engagement, including workforce development, subcontracting with local suppliers and adherence to international safety and sustainability standards.
