UK junior exploration firm Altona Rare Earths is finalizing an agreement with mining company Ignate African Minerals to acquire the Sesana Copper-Silver project in Botswana.
The acquisition will grant Altona Rare Earths up to an 85% interest in the project, which is situated in the Kalahari Copperbelt in prospecting license (PL) 2329/2023.
Cedric Simonet, CEO of Altona Rare Earths, said the acquisition “marks a significant step forward towards commencing exploration activities on this project.” Procedures to secure environmental and administrative approvals for the project are underway.
“The presence of an operating mine and of several active exploration projects in close proximity of the Tenement supports our assessment of its prospectivity,” added Simonet.
Altona Rare Earths and Ignate African Minerals initiated the acquisition deal in Aril 2024.
