The Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), a state-owned enterprise, is looking to launch new oil and gas exploration projects in Libya, according to Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance Turkey’s energy security by diversifying its supply sources. The announcement coincides with Libya’s 2025 oil and gas licensing round, which features 22 onshore and offshore exploration blocks.
Beyond Libya, TPAO is also pursuing new exploration opportunities in Somalia, Iraq and Azerbaijan.
