French major Total reached a historic milestone on Monday with the production of one billion barrels at its Dalia floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit located in Block 17.
Furthermore, the achievement comes without Lost Time Injury on the platform since the start-up of the FPSO unit in 2006, demonstrating the company’s commitment to safety and its personnel.
Block 17 is made up of four major hubs – Girassol (2001), Dalia (2006), Plazflor (2011) and CLOV (2014). Together, Block 17 has produced almost three billion barrels since 2001.
In December, Total and partners Equinor, ExxonMobil and BP received an extension on the Block 17 license to 2025, through an agreement with the National Agency of Oil, Gas and Biofuels and state-owned Sonangol.
