Uganda has taken a giant leap forward this year with the final investment decision made in February for the Lake Albert Development project. The country’s potential has been well-known following sizeable oil discoveries made in 2006. Concerns over land rights and the environment, regulatory hurdles and cross-border negotiations, however, have kept development on hold – until now.
Recent developments in the Ugandan energy sector will be integral for advancing the east African nation’s oil and gas exploration.
