The Tango Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) unit, operating at Eni’s Congo LNG project, has surpassed its guaranteed liquefaction production levels. The unit’s adjusted annual equivalent production now exceeds 0.6 million tons per annum.
The Tango FLNG, acquired by Eni from Exmar in 2022, began receiving gas in late 2023 and exported its first LNG cargo in February 2024.
To further enhance its LNG production capabilities in the Republic of Congo, Eni is constructing a second FLNG unit named Nguya. This new facility will add a liquefaction capacity of 2.4 million tons per annum, complementing the existing Tango FLNG’s capacity.
Together, these units are expected to bring the Congo LNG project’s total capacity to 3 million tons per annum by the end of 2025.
