Integrated IT security solutions company, Take Note IT, has announced the launch of the Cyber Excellence Academy in South Africa.
The training program will be developed in collaboration with scientific and technology research organization, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), and skills development institution, the Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICTSETA).
Designed to foster an understanding of cybersecurity principles, strategies and best practices, the Cyber Excellence Academy will equip participants with industry-leading expertise in the digital security sector.
The Academy is dedicated to equipping a new generation of youth with advanced skills and knowledge to proactively safeguard organizations and companies against threats in the cyber- and digital spaces.
“The Cyber Excellence Program goes beyond the traditional way of building our pipeline as the CSIR and for the nation into the grassroot levels, where we focus on the youth, females and the unemployed from a matric level,” stated CSIR Information and Cybersecurity Manager, Dr. Jabu Mtsweni, adding, “This program, in line with the CSIR’s strategic objectives and EPIC values, aims to contribute towards skills development and on the job training, in collaboration with the industry.”
The Cyber Excellence Academy will cover a wide curriculum including network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, risk management and incident response. Spearheaded in collaboration with the CSIR, the program will benefit the organization’s expertise in cybersecurity while drawing from the expertise of the MICTSETA to drive skills development and training initiatives and creating synergies within the rapidly evolving industry.
“The academy will play a pivotal role in training the new generation of cyber youth, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the digital world,” stated Take Note IT CEO, Mamela Luthuli, who added that, “By investing in talent development, the company not only ensures its future growth but also fosters employment prospects for individuals seeking careers in the cybersecurity field.”
The collaboration will ensure the academy’s adherence to industry standards while providing participants with state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technologies.
