Meanwhile, GOL will cover destinations across the European continent, including Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy, as well as Brazil and Cuba in South America.

Speaking about the agreement during April’s signing, TAAG CEO Eduardo Fairen stated that, “The partnership between TAAG and GOL open multiple opportunities for tourism and economic synergies in both countries…we are enthusiastic about this major connection that bridges Latin America, Africa and Europe via Brazil (São Paulo) and Angola (Luanda) transatlantic link.”

Leveraging GOL’s presence across the international airspace, the agreement aims to increase the volume of Angolan cargo distributed annually while solidifying TAAG’s position as both a competitive and increasingly attractive African airline for customers and contracts.

The May agreement follows the signing of a codeshare agreement between the two airline carriers in April 2023 aimed at promoting air travel across the South American, African and European continents via Angola and Brazil.

While the codeshare agreement connects passengers to the world via the two countries, the cargo deal further expands connectivity by taking Angolan goods global.
