Cany Jobe is the Director of Exploration and Production at the Gambia National Petroleum Corporation. As head of the department, she advises on oil and gas exploration projects; and structures, negotiates and oversees the implementation of high-value exploration activities of the NOC/IOC joint ventures and partnerships.
Cany is a dedicated and strategic Petroleum Engineer with a passion for cleaner and renewable energy technologies who has worked on energy projects in West Africa, South America, East Asia and Australia over the past 14 years. She is an experienced project management expert in the energy, oil and gas, and construction industries and holds a Master of Engineering degree in Oil and Gas from the University of West Australia and an MSc. in International Project Management from Glasgow Caledonian University with a previous B.Sc in Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering. She is skilled in policy formulation, governance, administration and strategic planning having previously served as and Board Secretary for the national oil company and a Head of Administration & Procurement. Cany Jobe is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Association of Project Managers and is an alumni of Australia Development Awards, Commonwealth Awards and Mining for Development.
