South Sudan’s President H.E. Salva Kiir announced on January 13, 2023, the appointment of Eng. Bernard Amuor Makeny as the new Managing Director (MD) of state oil company, the Nile Petroleum Corporation (Nilepet). Nilepet’s new MD, Eng. Makeny, holds a Masters Degree in Oil and Gas Management from the University of Liverpool in the UK and has held positions at Dar Petroleum Operating Company and Sudd Petroleum Operating Company since 2016.
