South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has appointed Eng. Awow Daniel Chuang as the country’s new Minister of Finance and Planning.
Tasked with curbing economic inflation facing the country, Minister Chuang assumed office on March 19 at the Ministry’s premises in Juba where he vowed to take “decisive action to curb the hyperinflation and stabilize consumer market prices across the country.”
Minister Chuang was appointed South Sudan’s new Minister of Finance and Planning by President Kiir on 15 March, replacing Bak Barnaba Chol.
Before taking up his post, Minister Chuang served as technical adviser at the Ministry of Petroleum and previously served as the country’s Petroleum Minister.
