Australian mining company Southern Palladium announced it will complete a prefeasibility study (PFS) for the Bengwenyama platinum group metals (PGM) project in South Africa by Q4 2024.
The PFS will advance the project towards a final investment decision, which is slated for 2025. Furthermore, with permit applications for waste management and water use licenses currently underway, construction of the project is set for 2026.
According to a project update by the company, the Bengwenyama PGM project boasts a total combined resource base of 35 million ounces, representing a 35% increase from previous estimates.
