Algeria’s state-owned oil company Sonatrach and Eni Algeria have signed an agreement to market dry gas from the Zemoul El Kbar license, until 2042.
The gas will be transported through a gas pipeline connecting blocks 403 and 405b in the Menzel Ledjmet facilities, where it will be treated. According to Sonatrach, the volumes are around 500 million cubic meters per year.
The two companies recently successfully completed a connection from the Bir Rebaa Nord and MLE in the Berkine Basin, also in the province of Ouargla. The gas pipeline is 185 km long can hold up to 7 million cubic meters per day.
The completed project is intended to transport associated gas from the fields on the Berkine North blocks. Sonatrach says that the new pipeline project is a manifestation of its shared strategy with Eni of reducing lead times.
