Woodside – operator of the SNE Field Development Joint Venture offshore Senegal – has confirmed the award of a seismic survey contract to Shearwater Geoservices.
The geoservices company will run a high-density multi-azimuth 3D seismic acquisition campaign across Sangomar, Sangomar Deep and Rufisque Offshore blocks, which comprise the SNE discovery, with the aim of improving reservoir definition supporting SNE well positioning and optimization.
“We are pleased to see the award by Woodside of this complex multi-azimuth triple source contract over these significant Senegal discoveries,” said Irene Waage Basili, Chief Executive Officer of Shearwater GeoServices, adding that the award reflects Shearwater’s capabilities as a full-service geophysical service provider.
The survey is set to start in the third quarter of 2019 and take approximatively 90 days to complete. The project will be run by the Polar Marquis vessel using 14 streamers and will use Flexisource triple source technology.
