The National Electricity Company of Senegal (SENELEC), the National Collective of Approved Service Providers by SENELEC (CNPAS), and pan-African banking conglomerate Ecobank signed a tripartite agreement to support approved service providers across the country’s power sector.
Signed in October 2023, the CFA 10 billion agreement aims to strengthen and formalize the activities of service providers working in the power sector by facilitating greater access to finance.
The initiative is specifically designed to assist and financially support the service providers authorized by SENELEC and follows an accreditation training program organized by SENELEC in December 2022.
CNPAS, which was established in April 2020, currently boasts a membership of between 7,000 to 8,000 members.
The collective’s goal is to unite all service providers operating in the sector, providing them with financial support and assisting them in formalizing their businesses.
