Senegal’s Sangomar offshore oil field exceeded its 2024 crude production target, producing 16.9 million barrels compared to the planned 11.7 million barrels, the country’s Ministry of Energy, Petroleum and Mines announced, as reported by Reuters.
Located 100 km south of Dakar and operated by global energy company Woodside Energy, the field aims to achieve a daily production rate of 100,000 barrels per day (bpd).
According to the ministry, all wells were operational by the end of 2024. December production reached 2.96 million barrels, with three cargoes totaling 2.94 million barrels exported.
