AIM-listed North Africa focused exploration and production company, SDX Energy, has made a new gas discovery in Morocco in its OYF-2 Well, in north western Morocco, in which the company has a 75% interest.
The discovery – which the company says is above pre-drill estimates – was drilled at a depth of 1,210m and contains gas estimates of between 1.3 and 1.9 billion cubic meters.
“We now have the potential to increase our total reserves in Morocco to approximately three to four years of customer demand,” SDX CEO Mark Reid stated.
SDX is also preparing to drill two new exploration wells in South Disouq, Egypt. The first well will be drilled in Salah by April 2020 and the second well, located in Sobhi, is expected to be completed in June.
