The onshore exploration campaign falls under the Concession Agreement for Exploration and Production for the PT5-C Onshore Area, awarded to Sasol under the country’s fifth licensing round in October 2018.
Following the discovery, Sasol will commence with assessment work and commercial viability.
Sasol holds a 70% participating interest in the Area PT5-C concession while Mozambique’s national oil company, Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos, holds a 30% interest.
