The Léopold Sédar Senghor FPSO facility has reached its destination at the Sangomar Field Development offshore Senegal, Woodside Energy announced on Tuesday.
Upon its arrival, commissioning activities will commence in preparation for Phase 1 of the project. This involves integrating 23 production, gas and water injection wells – along with a standalone FPSO into the subsea infrastructure.
According to Woodside Energy CEO Meg O’Neill, the successful completion of this phase highlights the collaborative efforts with the Senegalese government, joint venture participant Petrosen, and contracting partners since the final investment decision in January 2020.
The project is set for its first production by mid-2024, with an expected production capacity of around 100,000 barrels per day.
