Multinational oilfield services company Saipem has won a contract for the management of the Greenstream Pipeline – a 520 km-long pipeline connecting Libya to Italy. Saipem will be responsible for subsea intervention services related to the offshore and onshore sections of the respective pipeline terminals, namely Mellitah in Libya and Sicily in Italy.
The scope of work also includes specialized engineering services related to asset integrity; integrated management of survey data and critical spares and repair interventions. The work will be led by Saipem’s Sonsub division, which handles underwater technologies and services as well as robotics.
Saipem has been supporting the management of the pipeline since 2008, providing asset integrity, inspection, maintenance and emergency pipeline services.
