The first edition of the Africa Energy Series: Senegal 2019 report highlights Senegal’s journey to energy independence and prosperity through the launch of the Senegal Emerging Plan (PSE) and massive oil and gas finds offshore.
The report outlines PSE energy developments as a key driver of economic growth and diversification and places a focus on renewable energy to develop a stable supply of power to reach universal access to electricity by 2025. The publication features a message from H.E. Macky Sall, President of the Republic of South Sudan, and key players in Senegal’s energy industry including H.E. Mouhamadou Makhtar Cisse, Minister of Petroleum and Energy and Permanent Secretary of COS-PETROGAZ Ousmane N’Diaye.
It also highlights strong institutional, investor and legal frameworks that have been implemented in the petroleum sector in order to generate long-term revenue from its ever-increasing recoverable reserves.
