Energy Capital & Power (ECP) is proud to announce South Sudan’s national oil and gas company, the Nile Petroleum Corporation (Nilepet), as host and platinum sponsor of the upcoming South Sudan Oil & Power (SSOP) 2022 conference.
Returning for its fifth edition, the SSOP 2022 conference represents the east African country’s premier energy event, building on South Sudan’s extensive regional network and showcasing opportunities across key sectors for policymakers, investors and corporate decision-makers. With this year’s edition of SSOP centered around the important role energy companies play in ensuring the growth of the economy, Nilepet serves as a key participant and will be instrumental for promoting South Sudan as the gateway to east African energy.
This year, key topics include the interaction of oil companies such as Nilepet with communities, future projects and expansion of the industry and ensuring local participation and job creation.
“ECP is pleased and proud to announce the participation of Nilepet as a platinum sponsor and host at this year’s SSOP conference. SSOP 2022 is proud to have the support of the region’s top energy organizations, with the conference’s success owed to such sponsors and allowing us to use the momentum of our previous events in the country to accelerate investment and development in South Sudan,” stated ECP Senior Director, James Chester.
Mandated for participation in the full value chain of oil and gas sector activities on behalf of the government of South Sudan, Nilepet is responsible for the exploration, development and production of hydrocarbons, as well as the regulation of the petroleum industry. As host and platinum sponsor, Nilepet is further demonstrating its commitment to enabling the east African nation to build a prosperous future through its oil and gas resources.
Under the auspices of the Government of the Republic of South Sudan and in partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum, the Ministry of Energy and Dams and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, SSOP 2022 serves as the country’s official energy event and meeting place for the region’s oil, gas, and power industries. This year’s two-day conference will take place from 13-14 September in South Sudan’s capital city of Juba, positioning the country as Africa’s brightest prospect for growth and development.
