Nigeria has inaugurated three gas projects – namely, the expanded AHL Gas Processing Plant, the ANOH Gas Processing Plant, and the 23.3km ANOH to Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Custody Transfer Metering Station Gas Pipeline.
Once fully operational, the projects – which were inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu last week – will collectively supply approximately 500 million standard cubic feet per day of gas to the domestic market, marking a 25% increase in gas supply.
The initiatives are part of the Decade of Gas Initiative, a policy designed to deliver ten projects that maximize the value of Nigeria’s abundant gas resources, eliminate gas flaring and accelerate industrialization.
President Tinubu said, “This event is highly significant to our country as it demonstrates the administration’s concerted efforts to accelerate the development of critical gas infrastructure geared at significantly enhancing the supply of energy to boost industrial growth and create employment opportunities.”
