Renewable energy firm Cleanenergy Solutions Namibia (Cleanenergy) is advancing its green hydrogen and ammonia terminal project, with plans for completion by 2028.
The company has concluded six rounds of public consultations and is currently carrying out specialized studies for the €230 million project. The firm also secured two environmental clearance certificates and expects to receive a permit from the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism by March 2025.
In addition to the terminal, Eike Krafft, Cleanenergy’s Development Committee member, stated that “we are focusing on commercial ammonia production, aiming for a target of around 2030 for this phase two project.”
Supported by a €10 billion green hydrogen and ammonia production facility being developed by Cleanenergy in Walvis Bay, Namibia, the terminal will facilitate green hydrogen applications for trucks, port equipment and railway operations.
