Nabors Secures Four-Rig Contract in Algeria

Service provider Nabors has been awarded a four-rig contract by Algerian national oil company Sonatrach, with operations having commenced in the first quarter of 2024.

As per the terms of the contracts, Sonatrach will utilize Nabors’ advanced PACE- F rigs to support exploration in the country. The rigs are equipped with drilling technologies such as the Canrig Automated Catwalk, Canrig 500-ton AC Top Drive, and REVit automation platform.

The contracts mark Nabors’ resumption of operations in the country following a four-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

John Mabry, Algeria Area Manager at Nabors, stated that, “With the technologies provided on our rigs, I believe we will be able to help Sonatrach meet their drilling targets and achieve their operational goals.”
