Morocco and Senegal have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation in sustainable development and energy transition.
The agreement was formalized by Morocco’s Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali and Senegal’s Minister of the Environment and Ecological Transition, Daouda Ngom earlier this week.
The MoU focuses on the exchange of expertise, providing technical support and developing collaborative projects, with a focus on areas such as environmental governance, addressing climate change, waste management and promoting the circular economy.
Minister Ngom noted that a joint action plan will follow to implement the MoU’s objectives. Additionally, he will visit key environmental and renewable energy sites in Morocco, including the REUSE wastewater plant in Salé and the Koudia El Beida wind farm in Tangier.
