Energy data and analytics company TGS has signed an agreement with the Mauritanian Ministry of Energy, Petroleum and Mines to integrate, enhance and license subsurface data for oil and gas exploration.
The subsurface data comprises ten 3D seismic surveys spanning 19,092 km², plus an additional 84,000 km² of 3D surveys from offshore block relinquishments, as well as offshore and onshore well data and 20,000 line km of onshore 2D seismic data from the Taoudeni Basin
“These critical datasets will provide comprehensive subsurface insights, connecting drilled prospects to underexplored regions like the deepwater. When combined with TGS’ extensive database along the MSGBC basin, this will enable a thorough mega-regional analysis, enhancing understanding of analogs and variations along the margin,” David Hajovsky, EVP of Multi-Client at TGS said in a statement.
