Zallaf Libya Oil and Gas – a subsidiary of the state-owned National Oil Corporation – has conducted an inspection of the fuel pipeline supplying the Ubari power station in Libya. This assessment aimed to ensure the pipeline’s readiness to transport crude oil from the Sharara field to the forthcoming South Refinery.
The inspection is a preparatory step for deploying a smart detector in early January 2025, in collaboration with the Libyan Technology Company, which specializes in pipeline inspections.
In addition to the pipeline assessment, the team evaluated progress at the South Refinery site near Ubari. Ongoing preparatory work includes constructing a 3-kilometer access road, establishing a residential camp and drilling a water well to support the project’s development.
The South Refinery project, spearheaded by Zallaf Libya Oil and Gas, is designed to process approximately 30,000 barrels of crude oil per day, producing various petroleum products such as LPG, gasoline, kerosene, jet fuel, diesel and fuel oil.
