Zallaf Oil and Gas Exploration, Production and Refining Company, a subsidiary of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), has officially launched production last Sunday at the Al-Shadar oil field (NC-126), located in the Sirte Basin southeast of Ajdabiya.
On its first day of operations, the A1/A well reached a production rate of 1,500 barrels of crude oil per day, along with over 7.5 million cubic feet of associated natural gas.
This development supports the NOC’s goal of boosting oil production to 2 million barrels per day through infrastructure upgrades and increased exploration. As of late 2024, Libya‘s oil production stood just above 1.4 million barrels per day.
