Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Manufacturing Company, a subsidiary of Libya‘s National Oil Corporation, has successfully resumed production at its ethylene plant after a disruption that began on December 9, 2024.
The plant had been offline due to a malfunction in the propylene gas compressor, caused by inaccurate vibration readings. Operations were restored after reaching the critical milestone of receiving ethylene gas in the cold storage tanks.
The company emphasized that the plant’s restart is being carried out in a phased manner, with strict adherence to safety protocols and operational guidelines to ensure the protection of personnel and equipment.
