Libya’s oil production surged to 1.4 million barrels per day (bpd) in November 2024, marking its highest output since 2013.
For the second consecutive month, Libya has been a major contributor to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ (OPEC) rising production.
OPEC’s total crude oil output exceeded 27 million bpd in November, an increase of 120,000 bpd compared to October, with Libya accounting for the majority of the growth.
This significant rise in Libya’s production – up by approximately 110,000 bpd – was driven by the resumption of operations at the Sharara oil field in October 2024.
