French LNG service company GTT has been awarded a contract to support operations on the Coral Sul FLNG vessel for the Coral South LNG project, offshore Mozambique.
The contract was awarded by energy supermajor – and Coral South LNG operator – Eni on October 21.
Under the agreement, GTT will provide technical support services and maintenance of LNG storage tanks onboard the FLNG vessel. Services include on-site and remote technical assistance, on-site testing, inspection, emergency assistance, engineering services and training programs.
The Coral Sul SLNG vessel boasts a production capacity of 3.4 million tons of LNG per year and a storage capacity of 238,700 cubic meters. The unit is equipped with a Mark III membrane containment system, developed by GTT.
Situated in the Rovuma Basin offshore Mozambique, Coral South LNG has been exporting LNG and condensate since November 2022. The FLNG vessel was constructed by a consortium comprising engineering and technology company Technip Energies; global LNG contractor JGC; and shipbuilding company Samsung Heavy Industries.
The consortium is currently in talks with Eni to develop another FLNG vessel for the planned Coral North project.
