The Dasa Uranium Project will be operated by Somida, a subsidiary of Global Atomic Corporation, in phases with the first phase expected to exploit 20% of the project’s uranium resources.
Since the discovery of uranium deposits at the mine in 2010, Global Atomic Corporation has carried out a study assessing the environmental impacts of the project; a feasibility study investigating recoverable reserves in December 2021; as well as conducted mine excavation in the first half of 2022.
According to Global Atomic Corporation, the project will benefit Niger’s economy by creating employment, training and apprenticeship opportunities for youths, the skilled workforce and workers in other industries such as education, health and food supplies.
