Ghanian investment company the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) has signed an MoU with South Africa’s national mineral research organization Mintek to cooperate on the development of mineral resources in Ghana.
Through the partnership, the organizations aim to enhance technical expertise and innovation in the areas of research and development, technology transfer, capacity building and value addition in mineral processing.
“This partnership with Mintek marks a significant step forward in our commitment to maximize Ghana’s mineral wealth for long-term economic development,” stated MIIF CEO Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng, adding, “The collaboration will drive innovation, mining efficiencies, boost local capacity, and unlock new opportunities in the mining value chain.”
The MoU also outlines the development of workshops, training programs and joint research projects to enhance the technical capabilities of both organizations.
