Energy technology company GE Vernova is set to launch its new carbon emissions management software, CERius, at Azito gas-to-power plant in Ivory Coast. The deployment aims to enhance the accuracy of emissions reporting.
CERius leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to assist the plant in effectively reducing carbon emissions by offering data precision and abatement planning capabilities.
“One of the most effective ways to drive emissions reduction in the energy sector is to pursue digital transformation,” remarked Linda Rae, General Manager of Power Generation & Oil and Gas and Electrification Software at GE Vernova.
Azito will become the world’s first plant to utilize this technology. The plant already benefits from GE Vernova’s Asset Performance Management software, which predicts potential failures in power plants.
“The energy transition demands agility, speed and accuracy of data collection – CERius offers the fidelity of reporting emissions down to a specific asset, which can unleash actionable insights to help improve scope 1, 2 and 3 data accuracy and reporting, in addition to measuring abatement planning strategies,” Rae concluded.
