Well management specialist, Exceed, has secured a $4 million contract to drill the first deepwater well off the Coast of Guinea Bissau, West Africa.
Awarded by Swedish operator, Svenska Petroleum Exploration, the year-long contract comes after Exceed assisted Svenska with its first well project offshore the Republic of the Gambia in 2018.
Svenska operates three offshore blocks in Guinea Bissau, with total prospective resources estimated at 954 million barrels of oil equivalent.
Exceed will execute the well, including front end engineering planning, health, safety and environment management and logistical support.
“As the first water well to be drilled offshore in this area, this contract win succinctly illustrates Exceed’s unparalleled reputation for deepwater project management services in the West African region,” said the company’s Head of Well Management, Al Brockie.
Brockie further added that the company is at the forefront of operations in a number of complex and remote environments worldwide and is currently at the final negotiation stage on additional exploration well projects for other clients in the region.
