Africa Oil & Power (AOP), Africa’s premier event organizer for the energy industry, in partnership with the Ministry of Mineral Resources & Energy (MIREME), Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), African Energy Chamber (AEC), the Mozambican Oil & Gas Chamber (CPGM) and Attitude HR, brings global investors and policymakers in the oil and gas and power industry together for a focused technical workshop program to enhance and drive the growth of the sector in Mozambique.

Notice (7 March 2021): Africa Oil & Power, organisers of the Mozambique Gas & Power conference, hereby announce the postponement of the Presidential Award Ceremony scheduled for March 8, due to unforeseen schedule changes.

With this said, in embracing this change, we continue with impactful thought leadership discussions which cover the latest policies and strategies that key stakeholders are currently initiating towards advancing the gas and power sector in Mozambique, with highlighted examples of lessons learnt from neighbouring and international countries.

The event is set be executed with the following activities:

8 March 2021 will commence at 10:00 am Mozambique time, with an opening statement by Miquelina Menezes, President of Mozambique Women of Energy, highlighting the organization’s outlook on advances in electrifying the region, in commemoration of International Women’s Day.

9 March 2021 is still set to deliver thought provoking topical discussions around critical topics impacting the energy sector in the country, including Deloitte hosting a session on maximizing local content as an objective towards promoting awareness of business opportunities, procurement platforms, and vocational and technical training programs.

The discussions to follow will feature a case study presentation by Russia-based company Polati, which will be speaking about added value and localization maximization initiatives, and a session where TAQA Arabia will shine a spotlight on improving the uptake of the natural gas market, specifically looking at advances in gas to power.

Event Program

The event begins on March 8 with an opening session at 10:00 am Mozambique time, featuring an Outlook on Advances in Electrifying the Region, in Commemoration of International Women’s Day from the President of Mozambique Women of Energy. Workshops take place on March 9, and examine how Mozambique is building a globally competitive energy and natural gas industry.
Workshop sessions are free to attend for all registrants. Registered delegates will received a copy of our Mozambique industry report after the event. This is an online only event, there is no in-person attendance.
