Egypt and Jordan have signed a cooperation agreement to optimize Egypt’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure to meet Jordan’s energy demands.
The agreement focuses on utilizing Egypt’s LNG facilities to ensure a consistent gas supply to Jordan, enhancing energy security and regional market stability.
According to Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, the agreement reflects the strong commitment of both nations to enhance collaboration in the natural gas sector, promoting energy security and shared advantages.
The agreement, finalized in Cairo on December 2, 2024, was attended by Minister Badawi and Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Al-Kharabsheh.
