Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, recently met with Ivory Coast’s Ambassador to Egypt, Albert G. Dole, to discuss opportunities for enhanced cooperation in the oil, gas and mining sectors.
Minister Badawi underscored the potential benefits of the partnership, highlighting Egypt’s extensive expertise in oil and gas. He noted the country’s proven ability to implement large-scale infrastructure and logistics projects, supported by its advanced technical capabilities and the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.
He also reaffirmed Egypt’s active participation in the African Petroleum Producers Organization, underlining its commitment to advancing initiatives that support African markets and communities.
With Egyptian construction company Petrojet already engaged in a key infrastructure project in Ivory Coast, the Minister expressed confidence that additional Egyptian firms could contribute to critical projects in engineering, mining, port services and logistics.
Ambassador Dole welcomed the opportunity to deepen ties, emphasizing the value of Egypt’s expertise in advancing strategic petroleum and mining initiatives in Ivory Coast. The meeting reflects a shared commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and driving development across both nations.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to establish a joint working group to identify investment prospects and explore avenues for collaboration. The team will develop a structured plan, including scheduled meetings and site visits to oil, gas and mining locations in both Egypt and Ivory Coast.
