Egyptian firm Taqa Arabia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s (DRC) Industry Promotion Fund (FPI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to install a 50 MW solar project in the DRC’s Lualaba province.
The FPI aims to facilitate the execution of electricity infrastructure projects, intended to boost industrial and mining sectors in the Lualaba province.
Taqa Arabia – Egypt’s largest private sector energy distribution company – will conduct an upcoming site visit and propose technical and financial studies for the project, a plan of activities to be carried out and an implementation schedule for the materialization of the project.
The FPI will support Taqa Arabia in the implementation of the project, while ensuring compliance with the relevant laws and regulations of the DRC.
