Last week Monday, oil and gas exploration company, Chariot Oil & Gas announced that the Ocean Rig Poseidon had begun drilling on the Prospect S well in Namibia.
In a statement, the Atlantic margins focused oil and gas exploration company said that it anticipates that spud will occur shortly after the deep water drillship’s arrival and that operations would take approximately 40 days.
As operator of the Central Blocks license offshore Namibia, Chariot Oil & Gas holds a majority share of 65 percent while Azinam holds 20 percent, Ignitus 5 percent and the state-owned petroleum company, NAMCOR, holds the remaining 10 percent.
“… we are pleased to have secured historically low rig rates for the drilling of Prospect S, Namibia, in Q4 2018, following a successful fundraise in March,” said Chief Executive of Chariot Oil & Gas, Larry Bottomley in a statement last month.
