State-owned Cameroon Aluminum Company (Alucam) has exported its first four containers of aluminum under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to the Algerian company Alfilect.
The aluminium will be used in manufacturing electrical cables, marking the first containerized export of Cameroonian goods to Algeria under the AfCFTA. The launch ceremony, held at Douala Port on July 5th, was presided over by Cameroon’s Minister of Commerce, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana.
“This operation is part of a beneficial logic for our economies and, so to speak, seals the excellence of the long-standing relations between the high officials of our two countries and their reaffirmed desire to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Cameroon and Algeria,” Atangana said.
