Angolan logistics firm Cabship is ramping up its internal capabilities, investing in new technologies and upskilling its workforce to support the country’s expanding oil and gas sector.
Speaking in an interview with Energy Capital & Power, the company’s Deputy General Manager Sanção Manuel stated that Cabship is a testament to the strategic role Angolan companies play in providing high-quality services to major oil and gas projects operators.
“We are aligning our operations with those of main operators such as Azule Energy, Chevron and etu energias. They give us standards which we are copping to and sometimes adding more value to,” stated Manuel.
The goal, he emphasized, is to go beyond client expectations and ensure that Angola’s oil and gas sector adheres to globally recognized operational and sustainability benchmarks.
Beyond contracts, the company is making strides towards local content development in the country. According to Manuel, “We are almost 99% local which means the majority of the workforce is Angolan. We have set up an agreement with the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas to fulfill the metrics of local content and we are also helping small companies wanting to come into the sector.”
