Chinese automotive company BYD has launched its electric vehicle (EV), the BYD ATTO 3, in Senegal. This introduction is part of BYD’s expansion into Africa, where the company is present in nine markets, including Rwanda, South Africa and Morocco.
The BYD ATTO 3, available in two SUV models, features a 150 KW permanent magnet synchronous motor, front-wheel drive, and can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. CFAO, BYD’s strategic partner and exclusive distributor in Senegal, will handle local sales and after-sales support.
Yao Shu, BYD Africa Sales Director, stated, “The launch in Senegal marks another milestone for us in West Africa. We will continue to increase our investment in the Senegalese market and bring more innovative products to local consumers.”
