International oil companies BW Energy and Panoro Energy have successfully concluded their latest drilling campaign in the Dussafu Marin Permit offshore Gabon, expanding operations with eight new wells in the Hibiscus/Ruche area.
The drilling campaign aimed to accelerate the development of two new discoveries announced in May 2024, with combined estimated reserves of approximately 23.1 million barrels of oil. Currently, five of the newly drilled wells are producing, complementing existing production at the Tortue field and bringing total production from the Dussafu block to nearly 40,000 barrels of oil per day.
BW Energy and Panoro’s immediate focus is on transitioning all new wells to conventional electrical submersible pump systems and restoring production at three shut-in wells. Following this phase, the partners plan to drill the Bourdon prospect, which is estimated to contain recoverable reserves of up to 298 million barrels within the Gamba and Dentale formations.
