Now, following the successful installation of the production facility, risers and pipeline, the production team at BW Energy has assumed responsibility with first oil targeted for April 2023.
The Hibiscus/Ruche Phase 1 development is estimated to contain up to 70.2 million barrels of oil, with 30,000 barrels per day of total production expected. Oil produced at the concession will be processed at the BW Adolo Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit alongside production at the Tortue concession – already established – and thereafter be offloaded to oil tankers.
BW Energy is the operator of the Dussafu Marine license holding 73.5% while independent exploration and production company Panoro Energy holds a 17.5% interest and Gabonese national oil company Gabon Oil Company holds a 9% interest.
