Mining company West African Resources has reported high-grade gold mineralization from its ongoing drilling program at the M1 South Main Deeps Resource mine in Burkina Faso.
Serving as part of the Sanbrado gold operation, the company encountered 11.1g per ton of gold at 36m as well as 31.2g per ton at 11m. West African Resources aims to produce 4.2 million ounces over the next decade. Annual production is forecast to peak in 2030 at 494,000 ounces of gold.
The company currently holds unhedged gold resources totaling 12.8 million ounces, with ore reserves standing at 6.4 million ounces. The infill drilling campaign at the M1 South Main Deep Resource is expected to wrap up by late 2024.
